RIASEC: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. It may look like I just listed off random words... fear not, there is a reason! The six traits listed are the basis of the three-letter code a person will uncover when they take the Holland Code assessment. "According to Dr. Holland, an individual's interests and how they approach life situations determines their type"(McKay, 2019, para. 4). The Holland Code assessment within a career center is used to help guide students towards the majors and/or careers that may be a good fit for them based on their dominant styles. Below is a look at my three-letter code and what each trait means.
1. Social
People with social interests like working with others to help them learn and grow. They like working with people more than working with objects, machines, or information. They like helping and being of service to people.
2. Enterprising
People with enterprising interests like work that has to do with starting up and carrying out business projects. These people like taking action rather than thinking about things. They like persuading and leading people.
3. Artistic
People with artistic interests like work that deals with the artistic side of things, such as acting, music, art, and design. They enjoy creativity in their work.

While a person's three-letter code isn't definitive, it may help provide insight into how a person typically functions and what career(s) may be a good fit them.
